An oil recovery team from Australia arrived in New Zealand to join hands with the government in dealing with an oil spill by a cargo ship into North Island, as reported by ABC News on October 9, Sunday. ABC also reported that 10 Australians who worked on the Montara oil spill in Timor Sea two years back joined the on- water response team in New Zealand for that day. It has been estimated by the officials that 20 tons of oil has been spilled since the Rena hit the Astrolabe Reed last October 5.
